Communism is an ideology first proposed by Karl Marx, in which there is no private property and all assets are shared equally.

The bourgeoisie are the “upper class,” those who own the means of production. They were targeted in the Cultural Revolution.

The proletariat are lower-class workers who do not have access to the means of production.
